v2020.01

Released 2020-01-10.

What’s new:

  • Happy New Year!
  • Added a new feature for the estimate-risk endpoint extending the override capabilities. It can now be used to trigger a sensitivity analysis toward the collision risk, specifying a range of scaling factors for the co-variances.
  • When signing up for an OKAPI user account notice must be taken of our privacy statement

Bug Fixes:

Known Issues:

  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Notes:

  • v2019.09 at http://okapi.ddns.net:34568/ has been replaced by this version.

v2019.11

Released 2019-10-30.

What’s new:

  • It is now possible to propagate (electrical propulsion) manoeuvres
  • It is now possible to propagate co-variances using NEPTUNE end points. Still considered experimental though.
  • Manoeuvres can now be considered for pass prediction using NEPTUNE.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the 2nd diameter override was not regarded

Known Issues:

  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Notes:

  • v2019.07 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34569/ has been replaced by this version.

v2019.09

Released 2019-08-26.

What’s new:

  • The generic interface is now available for all propagations with NEPTUNE,
  • Additional options for propagation with NEPTUNE are available (perturbation forces, error tolerances etc.)
  • Added Orekit numerical propagator end points (beta) for orbit propagation and pass prediction
  • Added additional conjunction risk estimation methods Patera-2001 and Alfano-2005
  • Improved memory management.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed errors in conjunction risk estimation methods Foster-1992, Alfriend-1999 and Monte-Carlo. Should perform as expected now.

Known Issues:

  • /predict-passes/sgp4/requests and /predict-passes/neptune/requests are currently limited to 1-day predictions.
  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Notes:

  • v2019.06 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34568/ has been replaced by this version.

v2019.07 Beta

Released 2019-07-07.

What’s new:

Bug Fixes:

  • Added more TLE length checks

Known Issues:

  • /predict-passes/sgp4/requests and /predict-passes/neptune/requests are currently limited to 1-day predictions.
  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Notes:

  • v2019.05 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34569/ has been replaced by this version.

v2019.06 Beta

Released 2019-06-07.

What’s new:

  • Neptune propagation service inputs can now be given via a generic API which can be easily extended with new types (e.g. OPM, OMM, OEM) and formats (e.g. JSON, XML, TXT). This API-style is also used for Neptune propagation outputs. Normal API can be used in parallel. New API-style is evaluated and may be extended to other services soon. Eventually, it will replace current API-style.
  • Added pass prediction summary end point for Neptune and SGP4 propagators.
  • v2019.04 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34568/ has been replaced by this version.

Bug Fixes:

Known Issues:

  • /predict-passes/sgp4/requests and /predict-passes/neptune/requests are currently limited to 1-day predictions.
  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service cannot be guaranteed.

v2019.05 Beta

Released 2019-05-07.

What’s new:

  • Pass Prediction Service using NEPTUNE (numerical full-force) orbit propagation is now available!
  • Request IDs are now Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs) which makes it practically impossible to guess their values.
  • As soon as a Service Execution Request is made, the addresses where the results are stored become available. As long as processing is still being done, status 202 Accepted is now delivered, together with the results available at that time (note that the result set may still change completely). As soon as processing is completed, 200 OK is delivered, together with the final result set.
  • Earth orientation parameters and solar activity data are now updated continuously.
  • Users can now only access their own result sets.
  • v2019.03 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34569/ has been replaced by this version.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a timestamp issue in Neptune.

Known Issues:

  • /predict-passes/sgp4/requests and /predict-passes/neptune/requests are currently limited to 1-day predictions.
  • Since this is a beta version, an interrupt-free service can’t guaranteed.

v2019.04 Beta

Released 2019-04-07.

What’s new:

  • Documentation of our services is now available on our web site, including general service description, first-steps tutorial, future plans, function-specific descriptions, REST API reference and descriptions of our Connectors to directly use OKAPI in a Matlab or Python environment.
  • Sign-up page as well as Matlab and Python Connectors are now linked in documentation.
  • REST API adjusted to snake_case scheme.
  • Collision Risk Estimation service based on Maximum Probability method is now available. Check our web site for API details!
  • Sign-up process has been updated.
  • v2019.02 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34568/ has been replaced by this version.

Bug Fixes:

Known Issues:

Released 2019-01-31.

What’s New:

  • v2018.12 beta at http://okapi.ddns.net:34568/ has been replaced by this version.
  • OKAPI will now respond with HTTP 500 to indicate internal errors. Note that this status code may also be returned in case of bad requests, currently.
  • OKAPI will now directly respond with HTTP 500 in case of problems with the first request.
  • Most responses now contain one or more status messages (type + text).
  • Status messages will be output from science core, too, now.
  • Space Debris Mitigation Guidelines Service now available. Check further documentation for details.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed cases in which OKAPI will refuse connection or not respond at all.
  • Fixed status message texts in PassPredLong output.
